There is something that pulls one towards Madeline MacKay's work. It's not just the marks created by etchings and prints, which have a timeless quality. There is something else too; another form of maturity in her work, which comes from her Caithness upbringing. Animals and archaeology are everywhere there. MacKay herself has great skill and determination too.

MacKay is a graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone Collage of Art in Dundee and has recently been spending time in Canada's most remote areas.
