One of the most interesting Scottish artists, Ronald Rae was
born in Ayr in 1946. He started his first granite carvings at the age of 15
and attended Glasgow and Edinburgh Schools of Art. Over the past thirty-eight
years he has laboriously carved granite sculptures, with show of large works
just finishing at the Yorkshire
Sculpture Park. He also brings his skills and insight into inventive other
media.
