Sam was born in 1964 and brought up on the Isle of Lewis in the Western Isles.

He studied metalwork and 3D design at Camberwell School of Art in London from 1982 – 86 and  now lives and works in Orkney and has shown his work in numerous exhibitions over the last fifteen years
