Jeanie Gibbs

Jeanie Gibbs' work connects us to one moment - the joy in horse's movements, a fleeting expression, a story told by firelight - and it makes it that moment tangible through the material she works in. All of Gibb's chosen mediums - bronze, clay (gathered locally) and plaster - somehow retain the excitement and energy of the moment the work is created in her Highland studio. They revel in the power of play, and the wonders that are out there to be found.

“I want to tell stories through my work and materials. It is important that every part of the process has significance; my connection to the subject, the clay sourced locally from Lochinver, my tools hand carved from applewood. I endeavour to affect the viewer, to celebrate the unique beauty of an individual and in that way offer an unseen perspective."

Jeanie Gibbs is a third generation Scottish sculptor based in the Highalnds and London. She graduated fromk Glasgow University with an MA in Art histiry.
