Christopher Wood PPSSA RSW RGI studied at Edinburgh College of Art and has exhibited extensively throughout Scotland and the UK, including with the Society of Scottish Artists (SSA), Visual Art Scotland (VAS), Paisley Art Institute (PAI), the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour (RSW) and the Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts (RGI).
Wood's practice is rooted in direct, physical engagement with the landscape - walking the coast, immersion in changing weather, and a deep attentiveness to place. In the studio, this experience is translated through instinctive mark-making and layered painting, allowing each work to evolve organically over time. Wood's’work is held in both private and public collections worldwide, and he has received multiple awards through his contribution to contemporary Scottish painting.
