ALLAN MACDONALD | Back of Beyond: a new collection of paintings
We are excited to share this latest body of work by Allan MacDonald with you. It's a collection that builds on MacDonald's journeys to Canada and Iceland, now circling back to his Highland homeland with new ideas and even greater power in his paintings. I'm sure you will enjoy each one of them and their connections to greater things.
These paintings take us to special moments: catching site of the sleeping sphinx-like mass of Suilven; hearing the vast moving green sea as it pounds pre-Cambrian rock; mists of singing salt spray; warm winter light in a frozen land; a family of birches witnessing seasons, rooted and growning; the first fingers of awakening light; and a whale that swims silently known only by tail and spout. They do what the best art does. They connect us the a world that stretches beyond and above.
