It is not easy to capture the sublime - a wave's energy, a mountain's might and sunlit sea spray - but Beth Robertson Fiddes does this in a way that proves how alive painting can be. She shows how abstract marks can convort into the twist of rock or swell, and the black black black of an ocean is required if light is to exist. Each painting is the result of looking further, and finding ways to bring calm to chaos. It is hugely exiting to host our fifth solo exhibition, Northwest, of new work by Beth Robertson Fiddes.
