Abstract art can encourage us to be led by pure elements of line, form, tone, colour, pattern and texture to unexpected destinations. Sometimes there’s a familiar anchor- marks that suggest fields, buildings, the promise of a distant horizon, forms that recall the beauty of Nature or colour so intense it makes your heart sing.
Here is a selection of work by some of Kilmorack’s finest abstract artists including Patricia Cain, Marian Leven, Charles MacQueen, Ann Wegmuller, Gail Harvey, Robert MacAulay and Janet Melrose.
