Becs Boyd (b 19) combines a fascination with often-unseen dimensions of our lives, with an understanding of paint and composition. There is a feeling in Boyd’s work of the St Ives artists: where natural elements and observations weave through an abstracted landscape; and a belief in the power of painting and sculpture.

A reoccurring theme is our connectedness to non-human worlds, a desire to acknowledge this tangible truth and to express this feeling of connection in new ways through her work. After walking through Norway Boyd comments….

“My work explores the Sámi concept of nature is ‘an animated, living being,’ a sense that has been at the heart of my personal experiences of being wonderfully insignificant in what is a largely non-human and unpredictable world.”

Boyd trained as an Ecologist before studying at Moray School of Art (2020.) Since then her work has grown an increasingly large following.
