Calum McClure is an artist who is emersed in the powers and possibilities of paint. His work, currently oil paintings and large expressive monotypes, grows from the mid-twentieth century mastery of Scottish painting of his grandfather's David McClure's world, and his own fascination with the borderless world of nature and its fragile resistance. This blend of painterly prowess, bold expression and feeling makes McClure an artist who has fully earned his many admirers and accolades.
McClure was born in 1987 and graduated from Edinburgh Collage of Art in 2010. Since then, he has exhibited with some of the finest galleries, won prestigious awards and prizes. He currently lives and works in Rogogna north of Venice.
