Like a Borgesian Aleph glimpsed in an Edinburgh New Town basement, A Universal History attempts to show the story of civilisation from its beginning to its very end, and then back again. This series hopes to show the same thing from every angle simultaneously.

Robert Powell, since graduating from the MA in Fine Art from Edinburgh University in 2008 and an MFA from ECA in 2011, has exhibited widely and won several awards.
