Overview
JAMES NEWTON ADAMS is known for his playful work. There are elements of the naïve style of Lowry and the darkness of Bellany but these never bury a unique vision that comes from ADAMS' life on the Isle of Skye and his desire to create work. His paintings and sculpture tell of fisherman, moments of family and town life and bring us his own take on Skye's landscape; a joining of sea, mountain and man. These are truly remarkable paintings.
