Lotte Glob

Our Winter Exhibitions run through until March. It's an opportunity to see work from the many artists we represent. This includes sculpture from Gerald Laing, Helen Denerley, Lotte Glob and more, and paintings which stretch across the alphabet from James Newton Adams to Christine Woodside. We look forward to your visit.

These eleven new pots, bowls and vases are straight from Lotte's wood-fired kiln. They are rich with the textures, glazes and shapes that come from over sixty years of practice, and they are touched by the unexpected magics that come from a wood firing.

BORROWED LAND is an exhibition which celebrates the importance of land, sea and sky, and the artists who have made it their muse. Scottish landscape has a power known throughout the world, but it is more than this - it is a home and an ecology.



This exhibition includes work by twenty-five artists: from the awe-inspired painters, the northern romantics, to others who see it as a metaphor or celebrate its silence, and ceramic artists who reform its clay-body with fire.

'Eriboll Creatures' has been evolving for over twenty years. It is Lotte Glob’s first solo exhibition in Kilmorack, and it includes a large selection of etchings, drawings and paintings as well as over 100 ceramic sculptures. As an exhibition, it is a coherent whole, the secrete ecology of Loch Eriboll; and a lifetime’s ceramic knowledge is felt through the deceptive ease and fun of each sculpture. Glob’s deep understanding of place and both human and non-human culture adds to this exhibition’s power. It makes our world bigger.

Kilmorack Gallery starts 2021 with a selection of Lotte Glob's ceramic bowls. She is one of Europe's master bowl makers with sixty years bowl-making experience.

Rock eyes and wanderers, vases and books. The landscape is always the inspiration behind Lotte Glob’s work. It is the well that she draws from: that we all need to drink from. With over fifty years of experimentation and creation in the far north of Scotland alone, Lotte Glob knowledge of glazes, shaping and firing clay is vast and unique. She has become an important international artist.

We are excited to share with you these latest creations: rock eyes, wanders and large vases.

We are very pleased announce the arrival of fresh sculpture by Lotte Glob. This includes some of Glob's finest large works - an incredible 'out of the sea' creature, guardians and a 'looking through you.'
