Hidden things and videos

14th April Newsletter
Secrets that exist, but are buried or hidden, are central to both Wendy Sutherland and Lotte Glob's work. Wendy Sutherland thought of fables and myths as she painted her bird-inspired landscapes until they became 'a light dusting of snow over the canvas' that thawed to leave an impression, and Lotte Glob's ceramic books have whole pages vitrified into her work. A wall piece is a page of a book. The most enduring works, I believe, must contain a secret or a story. Birds and Bards and Rock Bone Fire end this weekend.

You may be interested in the short videos we have been adding to our video page (and Vimeo.) It allows sculpture to rotate and paintings to be seen sound-tracked and less static. Please let us know if there are any current works you'd like us to do with this and we'll try to do that next.

And next in the gallery is Beth Robertson Fiddes' solo exhibition Northwest. We will make work visible on the gallery's website, and let Robertson Fiddes tell other stories shortly. Let us know if you would like the earliest notification.
