CAROLINE HUNTER grew up in the Orkney Isles, studied History of art at Aberdeen University, and then in need of some fresh air spent seven years doing archaeological and conservation fieldwork on mainland Scotland, Shetland and the Hebrides before returning to Orkney and beginning to paint in 1994. Since then she has exhibited extensively throughout Scotland, and in london and is a prize-winner and regular exhibitor at the RGI. “ Soaring skies, building seas, bleached grasses against leaden hills, rusty tin roofs, brilliant greens of early summer and the roar of luminous surf at dusk in winter never lose their power and keep me reaching for my brushes.” Caroline lives and works in Argyll.
